[The sound of Golbez clearing his throat is heard.]

Citizens of Luceti, if I might have your attention for a moment.

On Friday at approximately 1530 hours, the main town of Luceti was attacked by one of it's own inhabitants. This demon, whom I am told goes by the name "Vocal", had no real motive behind his assault other than destruction and slaughter for it's own sake.

Naturally, opposition arose in the form of a man named Lute, who is an enemy of Vocal's from his own world. Lute and the allies he managed to gather, including myself, halted his attack as quickly as we could, and I am pleased to say that Vocal has been neutralized as a threat, at least for the moment.

On behalf of the entire defense group, I, Golbez, extend my apologies for any inconvenience caused by the battle. I assure you that we only fought in order to protect the village at large.

If you have any questions, I will take them now.

~~[OOC: I still don't know who exactly was supposed to die from the battle, so Golbez's responses about any casualties will be delayed until the others let me know.~~

Update: Rolo, Vocal, and Lute were the casualties. Golbez won't mention this unless directly asked, though.]

... Rolo... but he promised me.... he promised me he wouldn't go! That he'd come help me at the clinic.

It can't be! ... can't be... not Lute and Rolo... not both of them... not at the same time! There must be some mistake!

[He doesn't really know how to respond. He's rather out of his depth trying to comfort someone... being an evil overlord for the past couple of decades kinda puts a damper on those sort of skills.] I... apologize. For not being able to protect them.

[that surprises Kamui a bit, a stranger apologising for not being able to protect two of the people Kamui held dear, and also cause the sobbing to start, his tears to flow]

... it's alright. There... you... it wasn't your fault. I should have gone with them.

[He can't think of anything to say that wouldn't be condescending or assuming on his part, so he just remains silent. Sorry, Kamui, his social skills need, well... a lot of work.]

[he really feels the urge to just hide inside himself like the last time Lute died... but he'd promised his love he would never do that again... so he forces himself to stop crying for the moment and looks for a way to distract himself]

W-what about the rest of you? Are any of you hurt?

I am uninjured. I instructed the other members of the party to check into the clinic if they had any injuries, so if they haven't shown up yet, they are either alright, or they paid me no mind.

I see. T-that's good. I should go prepare for them if they should arrive.
