This is absurd.

Every time one of these experiments begins, everything descends into absolute chaos. It's as if no one can deal sanely with the alterations these blasted things place on us.

Something needs to be done. If anyone needs me, I'll be out trying to get some semblance of reason in place around here.

[And with that, Golbez heads out the door. Anyone who encounters him will find that his inherent desire for order has been ramped up to absurd levels. He'll be cracking down on rule-breakers and anyone he deems a threat with a vengeance.]

That depends on what needs doing. If there's someone threatening the peace, I'll halt their actions. If there are people in danger, I'll remove the threat. And if there are just people being unreasonable as a result of the experiment, I can play diplomat.

Or is there some other motive behind your doing this, some reason to be suspicious... that perhaps your intentions aren't as good-natured as you would have them seem. I want to trust you, but even so, I can't help but wonder. You always have been far too controlling.

What do you expect me to say, Kain? I've done nothing against you since your arrival, in fact I seem to recall aiding you at several junctures. As for being "controlling"... I simply have a preference for order and reason over chaos and emotion. A preference I have good reason to have, as you well know...

I'm not deluded enough to think I'd ever escape any of it. That I ended up here with you and everyone else is message enough that I don't deserve any reprieve from the past. I know that. It doesn't stop me from wanting to be rid of all of it, sometimes, impossible as I know it to be. But I've accepted what fate has dealt.

You act as if you're such a noble do-gooder, but you're not Cecil. Far from it. What really motivates you? Are you doing this out of some obligation or is it something else entirely? A desire for power? Perhaps you're only gaining people's trust so that you can use it against them one day.
