Character Relationships

Legend: ◊◊◊◊◊ = Those he considers adversaries. They are to be avoided or destroyed, whichever is simpler.
◊◊◊◊ = Unfriendlies. He will attempt to avoid them.
◊◊◊ = These people grate on him. He will keep meetings short and infrequent.
◊◊ = These are people he does not mesh with well. He won't actively seek them out, and might avoid them.
◊ = They annoy him slightly. This is for people he won't look for unless they might be able to help him, but won't try to avoid either.
= No real opinion. Most likely he needs to talk to them more.
♦ = An acceptable sort of person.
♦♦ = He enjoys time spent with them.
♦♦♦ = He considers them a friend.
♦♦♦♦ = They are very important to him.
♦♦♦♦♦ = He has deeper feelings for them than he thinks himself capable of. Possibly love.

	Final Fantasy IV: lunarborn ♦♦♦♦ [Little Brother] [Golbez's little brother, and one of the most important people in the world to him. Cecil's somehow managed to forgive Golbez for the numerous crimes he's committed, and even seems to want to acknowledge him as family. Golbez has returned the favor by watching over his little brother like a hawk, protecting him from what he can and providing someone he can talk things over with when they get too complicated.]
	Final Fantasy IV: [Bad username or site: holyblade title=Rosa_Harvey/Farell @ livejournal.com] ♦♦♦♦ [Little Sister-in-Law] [Golbez feels very guilty about the treatment he's shown Rosa in the past. He kidnapped her, brainwashed her best friend, threatened her life and that of her friends and fiance numerous times, and basically made life miserable for her. One of his many methods of atonement is doing his best by her, providing for her when she's in need, protecting her when he can, and trying to offer her the same shelter and support he gives to Cecil. She doesn't seem to hold a grudge against him for what he's done, insisting alongside Rydia that he's proven himself worthy of retaking the name of Theodore Harvey. He can't quite bring himself to agree with them though.]
	Final Fantasy IV: [Bad username or site: eidolon_soul title=Rydia_of_Mist @ livejournal.com] ♦♦♦♦ [Adoptive Niece] [Yet another one of his former victims turned allies, Rydia is more or less Cecil and Rosa's adopted daughter. Golbez was indirectly responsible for the death of her mother and the destruction of her town, Mist, but despite this she doesn't seem to harbor any resentment towards him. Rydia is one of the more cool-headed of Cecil's group, always willing to discuss plans and avoid conflict if she can. This makes her one of the best ones to talk to, in Golbez's mind. She does seem to have a fascination with "the man behind the mask" that he can't seem to get her to give up on, but that's a small price to pay for the enjoyable company she provides.]
	Final Fantasy IV: [Bad username or site: dragoon_pride title=Kain_Highwind @ livejournal.com] ◊◊◊ [Former Victim] [Perhaps more than anyone else, Golbez owes Kain greatly for what he's done to him. And Kain knows it. He's made no attempt to hide the resentment he feels towards Golbez's very existence. Golbez accepts this, and attempts to stay far from Kain. Unfortunately, that makes it difficult to talk to the people they have in common, which grates on him at times. Far worse, however, is Kain's treatment of Valvalis. He seems absurdly eager to seize any excuse to attack her, verbally or physically. Golbez will not accept this, and considers it his responsibility to keep them both from each others throats as best as he can. He doesn't dislike Kain for himself, but his relentless hatred drives Golbez up the wall more often than not.]
	Final Fantasy IV: [Bad username or site: aero_dienamic title=Valvalis @ livejournal.com] ♦♦♦♦ [Creation/Daughter] [Valvalis and her brethren are the closest things Golbez has (or is ever likely to have) to children. So seeing her in Luceti, alive, well, and with something aside from destruction on her mind, is a distinct pleasure for him. He's watched her grow and mature emotionally since he arrived, and he's glad to see that she's become something much more than the fiend of wind he created. Also, she's finally come to see him not as her "commander" or "master" but as her father, a fact that pleases him greatly.]
	Final Fantasy IV (the After Years): [Bad username or site: lunarianlegacy title=Ceodore_Harvey @ livejournal.com] ♦♦♦♦ [Nephew] [His future nephew, from seventeen years in his future, and named for him and his brother. The young man endeared himself to Golbez greatly almost as soon as he appeared, and they're quickly forming a bond. Ceodore's quick acceptance of calling him "uncle" won him over very quickly. True, the boy's lack of confidence is grating at times, but it's also perfectly understandable, with such a fearsome legacy to measure up to. Golbez is very much interested in boosting Ceodore's self-esteem and helping him in any way he can.]

	Ouran High School Host Club: [Bad username or site: lost_koneko title=Kirimi_Nekozawa @ livejournal.com] ♦♦ [Valvalis's child/Adoptive Granddaughter?] [Golbez finds Kirimi adorable, as does pretty much anyone else who comes into contact with her, but mostly she's important to him because she's important to Valvalis. He does care about her safety and happiness, but he doesn't know much about caring for children, and he gets the feeling that he often confuses her. Surprisingly, though, she doesn't appear to be frightened of him, which he appreciates.]
	Final Fantasy IX: [Bad username or site: mog_summoner title=Eiko @ livejournal.com] ♦ [Ward of Cecil's house] [Golbez has only met Eiko once, and his opinion of her was pretty basic. He considers her an ordinary child, with all of the stubbornness, foolishness, and overeagerness of one. This doesn't mean he dislikes her, far from it, he finds her quite amusing (which she doesn't like) but he's just not very good at dealing with kids.]
	CSI: Miami: [Bad username or site: miamijustice title=Horatio_Caine @ livejournal.com] ♦ [Intelligent and mature man] [Caine and Golbez haven't talked often, but the man seems dependable, cool-headed, and intelligent, all things that Golbez approves of. They appear to live in the same building, so Golbez has considered that perhaps they'll talk more often in the future. He's pretty sure that his constant wearing of his armor and his use of magic is strange to Caine, but then, it is to most people.]
	Tales of Symphonia: [Bad username or site: wise_maiden title=Raine_Sage @ livejournal.com] ♦ [Dependable and cool-headed woman] [Raine and Golbez really only seem to talk when there's a crisis going on, and then only to coordinate some kind of plan. Golbez has absolutely no problems with this, and considers Raine a valuable asset to the whole of Luceti. He knows very little about the woman beyond her calmness and reasoning capabilities, but he doesn't much care to, either. They have a respectable, businesslike relationship, and that's all.]
