Intriguing... all this talk about the new year, and yet I have heard no mention of resolutions from anyone.  Perhaps it's only a tradition on our world.

In my world, there was a tradition of making resolutions to improve ourselves every year. People would resolve to do things like work harder, listen better, talk to more people, or what have you. Just a general "out with the old, in with the new" sort of thing.

It's one of our better traditions, I think. The idea is that little by little, as the years go by, you can keep improving on yourself.

Apologies. My resolution is personal. However, I would advise looking back over your actions last year, and considering what you would most like to have changed.

Don't try anything too big. I've always felt that attempting to change oneself was best done in small increments, over time.

On my world, and in a few others, apparently, there's a tradition each year to make a sort of promise to yourself that you'll do or not do something during the coming year. A way of devoting effort to bettering oneself, essentially.
